And the ILSb/ICBB 2011 winners are…….

ALL OF US

This past weekend I had the fortune of meeting and getting to know the “cream of the crop” when it comes to the Leathermen and Leatherwomen who not only look hot, but play even hotter.

Congratulations to Sir Alan Penrod International LeatherSIR 2011, pup nitro International Leatherboy 2011, and to Luna International Community Bootblack 2011

To say the least we will be very well represented over the coming year.

ILSb/ICBB has left me with many new friends and a chance to catch up with
many old ones.

Together we shared our lives with, the attendees and Judges.

What was obvious to me is that We are the Leaders in our communities, We do have influence, We do have a lot to say, play to share, and a responsibility to uphold our right to do so.

The speeches were all very powerful and I hope to post some of them here on my blog.

Behind the scenes there were many great moments I will never forget and I look forward to our future contact with all of You as our path will undoubtedly cross again.

I will also be posting several pictures of my own in the following days.

A very proud LeatherSIR

ILSb/ICBB Speeches

I have been asked by a few of the attendees of ILSb/ICBB if they could have a copy of my speech. Here it is or at least the written version of it. To read other speeches click here

Honoured Judges, Ladies & Gentlemen, fellow Sirs, fellow Masters, boys, slaves and let’s not forget the title holder widowers

I am frequently asked why I live in a smaller community in Northern Ontario, and how I could possibly live a full Leather life with the closest Leather bar 5 hours away.

Imagine waking up with a river steaming outside my door.

Imaging waking up a black bear sprawled out across the highway waiting for the next sandwich.

Imagine seeing a young cub sitting on his ass playing in the muck.

Imagine seeing a yearling bull strutting his stuff knowing he will fuck for the first time in the fall.

Imagine the excitement of a boy when he sees a Sir online who is coming to his community of 100 and is looking for a boy to serve for the night.

Imagine the look on his face when he is kneeling in front of his first fully clad Leather Sir.

Imagine his first deep breath of Leather and Sir.

Imagine that same boy traveling 3, 5, 7, even 16 hours to be with his new Sir.

Imagine a boy’s first flogging, chained between two trees, with only his Sir, the stars, and the howling of a pack of wolves under a full moon.

Imagine a boy signing his first contract in the presence and support of his new leather family.

Imagine that boy becoming a Sir and having boys of his own, passing on my Leather DNA.

Imagine that boy becoming a slave pegged to the ground, branding iron in the fire, and his ass in the air waiting to be marked by his Master.

I do visit the bigger cities and stir up a fuck of a lot of fun with my boys and slaves, but if you ask why I don’t move to a bigger city, I’ll just smile and tell you about my journey as a small town Leather Sir.

As a small city leatherman I have different experiences and perspectives on leather, which I hope to share with all of you as your international leather Sir

These and many more experiences are what I could bring to international leather Sir

I’m Master Chuck Eastern Canada LeatherSIR 2011

RIP: Andrew MacDonald, Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2005

With much sadness, i post the following from Brandon Matheson – Producer, Eastern Canada LeatherSIR/Leatherboy:

Very sad news.

Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2005 Andrew MacDonald passed away Wednesday July 27 in Nova Scotia, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Andrew was diagnosed with terminal cancer in February 2010.

Today his words to me in a touching letter written that month, ring so ever true: “I’m glad we’ve had the opportunity to share each others company.”

We will miss you, Andrew. Rest in peace.

Here’s a link to photo albums from Andrew’s ECLb title year:

Coffee time, life and ILSb preparation.

It’s ILSB prep time?

As I sit here with my morning coffee with a boy still in bed, a slave and grand slave in the slave quarters, and my partner sound asleep I am taking the time to think about my journey. First as a brown leather Daddy Bear to a cub, then as a Sir to my first boy, as boy to my SIR and then as a Sir to my many  boys, dawgs, and pigs.

Now as a titleholder about to go to the next stage of my titleholder journey, thinking about how I have changed in many ways, yet at the same time I am still a brown leatherman at heart.

To some, brown leather is just a different color of leather, but to me its much more. It a way of looking at life and expressing Leather. Bondage only requires 4 pegs, some rope and an open sky and a boy, no more.

One of the many discussions I have had with my boy iain over the years is about being who and what you are and running with it. I was quite fortunate to have realized this when I was arm twisted into a Bear competition in the early 90s. I ended up leaving the competition with a new sense of self which was that if you don’t like the way I am fuck you, and if you do I’ll fuck you twice.  Summed up, you are what you are run with it.

Since then I have always marched to my own drummer and by doing so I now have a wonderful, very complete Leather life and Leather Family.

As I sit here with my morning coffee and ponder my life, I realize  my ILSb preparation has been my life and is now complete.

Coming out as a Leatherman and how it ties into my thoughts on Guy Baldwin’s speech to the NLA Houston.

As many of you know I am a semi-private person and starting this blog for me was quite a stretch for this and many another reasons.  I am a Leatherman who is also dyslexic and as such written text is a time-consuming venture.

I am also one that does strategic planning in my life, looking at where I want to go and formulating plans of what I need to get there.

A few years ago when it was first suggested to me that I enter the Eastern Canada LeatherSIR competition, I realized that I had several things I needed to accomplish before I proceeded to enter.  The first was to reduce my load and with my terms ending on two boards of directors – this easily freed up 40 hours a month; and the second was to come out as a Leatherman to the people who mattered in my life.

I was also once married, had a son and a disabled daughter who is turning 30 this year. At times she is wise to the age of a 60-year-old and as naive as a 16-year-old.

I had already come out to my son, who, as it turned out, was submissive. This of course led to many interesting conversations, and lending him some rope for an “emergency date”.

My daughter on the other hand was to be more difficult or so I thought. As an AIDS activist in the 90’s and 2000’s my daughter and have a report that is more like an older sister when it comes to topics of sex.  The first hurdle was coming out Poly, which really was a source of entertainment more than drama.  She asked me how long I was poly and when I said 20 years, and that she knew almost all in my Leather family she said she would have to think about it. Later that eve she called and asked “so…. do I have to call them all Dad?” I replied that it was more like an older wise Dad and son kind of relationship and again said, “I need to think about this”. Another half hour passed by and the next question. “So dad does this mean I have 10 brothers?” I said well not really, to which she replied, “good cause I have the hots for Iain” (my boy iain).

I recently read the speech that Guy Baldwin delivered at the National Leather Association. I have put a link to his speech at the end of my blog.

When I first read the speech, to be honest, I was a little put off.  The more I thought of it, due to his life experiences growing up in a large city in tough times, he has the right to say what he sees and feels.

I’m not only a gay Leatherman living in a city of 90,000 but also a gay parent, who lives in Canada. My experiences are quite different and my coming out is also quite different.

I agree with what Guy Baldwin says about integrating of all aspects of our lives. As Gandhi once said “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony”

The use of a scene names is much more common in the straight world than in the gay world. The component that Guy may be missing is the psyche of parenting. To best explain it to non-parents, as a Master I have a similar feelings towards my subs. I will do whatever I have to do, whenever I have to do it, to protect my subs. Being a Master is part of my psyche to do otherwise would be in conflict with myself. To do anything other than to protect my subs from the world that may harm them, is also in my psyche as an alpha male.

Straight Masters and Mistresses are no different that Gay Leather Masters, we choose how and where to protect our families and in particular children from the sometimes vicious world out there. That is our job, that is our path. It is also up to us to decide how to best do that.

I have to admit the pansexual world is where the gay world was in the 60s and 70s. In Canada, the new freedoms we have achieved have also sparked a right-wing backlash, which may end up being as bad as the backlash that happened in the 70s with the bath house raids.

At a recent pansexual conference, I chose to be fully out. Doing so may have thrown a few of the attendees off guard, for me it was essential that some see that it is ok to be fully out, as it was essential for me in the 80s and 90s to see other others who are fully out and happy.

Guy may also be speaking from a big city perspective, where Pride marches number in the thousands and hundreds of thousands. In my hometown of Sudbury we may get up to 200. Of those 200 many are our straight, and kinky friends who march with us. We do not have the numbers to warrant a gay village, yet despite that we see rainbow flags on some businesses. My point is, in smaller communities we may not have the critical mass to yet thrive, we need each other and my opinion we are much richer for it.

I do have once concern with what Guy Baldwin has said, which is that we may act on his thoughts without taking the time to really think about where we are at in our own communities, countries, and our own Leather worlds. For me monolithic gay-only Leather is not where I want to be. For me a knowledgeable Dom or sub who is willing to share their experiences, a Dom or sub who requests your help all have no orientation.

Guy has in many ways done us a great service in shaking us up and stimulating discussion and for that I say, “Thank You we needed that”.

Tease 2011 was a blast and a wrap

Tease 2011 was held this past weekend at their new campground which will surely assist Tease to continue growing.

It was great to catch up with some old friend and meet many new ones. This year the seminars were heavy on the DS tracts. Thanks to the  presenters of some of the other seminars I was able to take in. A special thanks to Master Dan and his slave Dawn for sharing their experience as a Master and slave, Grey Dancer for his insight into finding our “Defining moment” despite mine being really off the wall, and Dark Angel for his insights into humiliation play.

A  special thanks to what I will call the straight female submissive equivalent of Buster. phoenix is a unowned female slave who I had an opportunity to  assist in her fantasy (and major turn on for her) of being wrapped in bubble wrap and being rolled arround and having the cells pop all over her body. I will never be able to ship a parcel again without a big smile on my face.

The picture above was taken prior to Tease, but it does show the possibilities.

I’m already looking forward to next year.

Showing Leather Pride at Toronto Pride 2011

Leather pride to me is being proud of who we are, showing there are different ways to live our lives. There are many ways to do this.  Having a Toronto Pride Leather Sir and Leather boy float is just one of them.

Here we are on my FORD F150 which was converted into the ECLSb float for Toronto Pride 2011.

With boy iain kneeling in front of me on the spanking bench, I pulled boy iain close to me by his collar teasing him with and eventually giving him a deep wet kiss at which point the crowd erupted in cheers and applause.

Teasing boy iain

I then pulled him down over my lap and took out my canoe paddle to further crowd eruptions followed by chants of “harder harder”. To show the full dynamic, after a short paddling I again pulled him to my face for another nice deep wet kiss followed by boy iain’s “Thank You Sir”

I have to admit I am a devoted FORD man, just not a Mayor Ford man. Ford showed up chained in my head cage with a gag.

Making the float

A special thanks to Master Scott, Master Scott’s slave pup bandit, Master Greg’s mutt, and boy iain for all the help putting the float together, and the producers of the ECLSb  Brandon Matheson and Dan Falkenham for handling the paperwork to keep us legal.
