How a Boot’s Journey Can Bring a Leather Family Together

Master supports and encourages us to connect with each other. While we use different ways to connect – chatting online, texts, phone calls, visits and family/leather events, sometimes a different way of connecting presents itself.

Leveraging an opportunity like this can bring family members closer together. i know being a part of Master Chuck’s Leather Family has been a very rewarding experience for me.

Recently, i had the opportunity to serve both my Master and my Alpha slave brother in a way that was a lot of fun, more then just a duty or an obligation. Due to circumstance i became the courier for Alpha slave Eric’s new Corcoran boots. Left up to my own devices, i decided these boots needed to see a little more of the world before they were turned over to their owner.

Here is the story with photos of the boots journey from United States to China and to Canada making it a special experience, creating memories for all to enjoy. There are few quotes from the boots themselves. Enjoy!

Back in April, with Master’s permission Alpha slave Eric ordered a pair of Corcoran Boots at CLAW. The boots had to be shipped to him but the postage to Canada from the United States was an added fee so instead they were to be sent to slave Joe in San Francisco, CA.

Since boy iain was to be in San Francisco, CA for a work conference, it was anticipated that he would pick up and deliver the boots up to Sudbury, ON based on visiting Master first. The boots arrived prior to boy iain’s visit. i was ready to hand the boots off but it turned out that boy iain would not be able to get up to Sudbury before i would in mid-June.

The boots remained in my hands for a little awhile longer. However, to deliver them they first had to go on a journey with me. The boots become my traveling companions on a business and pleasure trip. Below are photos of the boots enjoying a journey like no other.

These boots have more air miles on them then they could ever get with walking miles. Mmm, knowing Alpha slave Eric, he is up for the challenge to see how may miles the new boots can walk.

Bro, i wish you many walking miles of happiness in your new boots. i enjoyed having a part of you with me as my traveling companion.

Eastern Canada LeatherSIR/Leatherboy moves to Easter weekend 2013

Four days of events planned; ‘regional themes’ for fantasy scenes dropped

(Toronto) — Organizers of the Eastern Canada LeatherSIR/Leatherboy contest today announced the repositioning of the contest weekend from February to Easter Weekend in 2013. The contest weekend will take place in Toronto from Thursday, March 28 through Sunday, March 31, 2013.

The Eastern Canada LeatherSIR/Leatherboy contests will be held on Saturday, March 30. A special edition of the Rough House BDSM dungeon party will be held on Sunday, March 31. Additional events that will be held Thursday night through Sunday will be announced in coming weeks.

Also announced is the elimination of the mandatory ‘regional theme’ that contestants were required to incorporate into their on stage fantasy scene. ECLSb 2013 contestants may use any theme of their choosing, as long as the fantasy scene highlights the range of their BDSM play skills. Fantasy themes have been removed at the international competition level as well.

Winners of the 2013 Eastern Canada LeatherSIR and Leatherboy titles will perform a BDSM demo at Rough House, the day following the contest.
LeatherSIR/Leatherboy are “player’s titles,” erotic titles representing the sexual side of gay leather men. The primary goal of ECLSb is networking and outreach, to help educate the community about leather men, our erotic expression, traditions and history — and of course, BDSM play and hot leather sex!

ECLSb contestants will be judged in four categories: Interview; Speech & Formal Image; Jock strap; and Leather Sex Fantasy. The contestant’s interview portion will take place in private with the judges prior to the contest; the three remaining categories take place on stage during the contest. The fantasy portion is what sets the ECLSb contest apart from many other contests styled after the International Mr. Leather and Mid-Atlantic Leather formats.

The ECLSb contests are open to leathermen and leatherboys who are residents of Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada. Note, this is not a couples contest; contestants compete individually for each title. Winners of ECLSb 2013 will advance to compete at the International LeatherSIR/Leatherboy 2013 contest, to be held Labour Day weekend in Dallas, Texas.

Since 2005, Eastern Canada LeatherSIR/Leatherboy contest weekend has been produced by Brandon Matheson (Eastern Canada LeatherSIR 2004) and Dan Falkenham (Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2004).

Rough House BDSM dungeon parties returns September 23, 2012 TORONTO

Six parties planned between September & March

(Toronto) — Organizers of Rough House, the popular gay men’s BDSM dungeon party held in Toronto, today announced event dates for the 2012-2013 season, which will run September through March.

All Rough House events are held on a Sunday afternoon, from 1pm to 5pm. Admission is $10. Rough House will take place: September 23, October 14, November 18, January 27, February 24 and March 31. (March 31 will be the first Rough House event held as part of the Eastern Canada LeatherSIR/Leatherboy contest weekend.)

Rough House is well established at Goodhandy’s (2nd floor, 120 Richmond St, Toronto; Richmond & Church), where the event has been held since 2009. As of September 1, Goodhandy’s will be changing its name to Club 120 and the bar will undergo some programming changes, however that will not affect holding Rough House at the venue.

Who is Rough House for? Rough House is not a pansexual event, neither by design nor goals. Rough House was created as a BDSM space for gay leather men to foster play, sexual networking and education. Leather dykes show up at each event and are always welcome — but Rough House is decidedly targeted as BDSM space for gay leathermen and other leatherfolk that enjoy a male-focused environment. What happens at Rough House varies event to event, depending on attendees. Play often includes pumping, saline, watersports, bondage, flogging/single-tail, CBT, percussion play, electro and fisting, and public play. Check out photo galleries on the Rough House website to see examples of the play. A more detailed description of demos and invited special guests for each event is published on the website closer to the event date.

With help from a dedicated roster of volunteers that make the event possible, Rough House is produced by Brandon Matheson and Dan Falkenham.

Registration is still open for our  annual August Cabin / Camping Leather Denim Run – a casual, friendly social week (or weekend) at an isolated camp just north of Sudbury.  With a Cabin 4 equipped with various loaner equipment to try out, plus other areas to do what you like with, it’s a great time to connect with other leather and adventurous men of all levels, with no pressure to do anything other than what you want to do with your time there.

This year, it’s Aug. 16 to 23, 2012 — Thursday to Thursday.  We have 4 large cabins, that sleep up to 24 men , with single and double beds.  You can come for the full week, just the weekend, or whatever combo you want.  Cost is $140 for the weekend, or $320 for the full week – which is a great deal, considering it includes the camp site, all meals, and space in a cabin with bedding provided. 

There’s propane fridges and stoves, full running water, showers, and lights in the cabins.  There is no electricity, but arrangements can be made for anyone with C-pap or other electrical needs. More details about the run facilities here.

Tease 2012 BDSM Camping Convention July 12-16 Moved to Near London, Ontario, Canada

This year at there will be 5 of our Leather family members at TEASE to help with the workshop schedule. As a group we will be presenting 7 of the 17 workshops happening at the event.

As hinted to in his interview in “The Dark Side” Podcast, Master Scott and his alpha-slave pup kalen will be presenting puppy play.

DanM (Twisted Teddy bear) will be doing a workshop on cock sucking. An awesome opportunity to pick up some cock sucking skills and techniques.  If he needs a demo top I’m Game !!

Leather Son Chris will be presenting for the first time on the topic of Cigar Service and Cigar Play. A form of play that is being seen less and less in the Pan-Kink community due to the strict smoking laws, and party rules that do not allow “play” out side the venue in the smoking area.

I will be repeating  the very popular “Risk Management is Not Only for the Workplace workshop” , as well as workshops on “Long Distance Relationships”, “Long Term BDSM relationships” making them work and “Exit Plan” AKA retirement planning for Doms workshop geared towards the reality of becoming an aging Dom/sub and how that affects your kink.

Pantheon of Leather XXII UPDATE Thank you all

Last May I did a post re the nominations for the Pantheon of Leather XXII

For the past two weeks I have been waking up and reading my morning email only to find more and more people informing me of their nominations. What occurs to me every time I read such an email is how fortunate I am to be surrounded, acquainted, influenced and informed by some of the “Kare bares” (intentionally miss spelled to avoid children finding this blog) of our Leather/Kink.

During one of the Leather Leadership Conferences I attended there was a key-note speech by Godess Lakshmi unfortunately I can only paraphrase her. “”Untill you have swept up the cigaret butts, dealt with  filthy overflowing washrooms, been the target of criticism by those who will not lend and hand and even worse those who do, stayed up all night with someone in need, don’t call yourself a Master, Sir or Leader.”””

The nominees in all categories that I know have been all that, and much much more. They have earned their nominations through hard work, sweat and tears, all while serving their communities, their clubs, their Doms, their subs and many others not yet in the community.

All the nominees also have one other characteristic, bravery. In order to have done what they have some have had to come out to their families friends and employers. For some risking their lively hood. Yet they still rose to the challenge despite the risks to themselves to serve us all.

I want to thank you all for the work you have done.

Before I list the nominees I do want to point out one in particular nomination which is my boy Iain’s. I can still remember his first time I met him, a bit shy and like a boy in a candy store, since then he has grown into the well-respected and multi award-winning  Leatherman that he is today. Boy you have done me, yourself and our family proud.

From Nominations to Award Recipients

Nominations were accepted in April and May.
A Nominations Committee selected Nominee Finalists from the list of nearly 1,100 submitted.
There were about 190 Nominee Finalists in a total in 27 categories.
Nominee Finalists have been notified and given an opportunity to supply a biography in their own words for the Selection Panel to consider.
The Selection Panel, made up of individuals who received awards last year, cast their votes in mid-May to determine this year’s award recipients.
Most of the Award Recipients will be announced in the August Issue of the Leather Journal and here on or about August 1.
All Pantheon of Leather Community Service Awards including the Regional Awards and the Major Awards will be presented at DomCon: Atlanta on Friday  night, October 12.

The entire Leather community is invited to participate in the first round of the awards process by submitting nominations electronically. Properly submitted nominations will be passed on to a Nominations Committee which will select Nominee Finalists which will then be sent to a Selection Panel composed of individuals who received awards in 2011. This panel will vote and decide the winners.
